Another day and another breakfast on the beach, I could get used to this! Then it was off to Sambhodi Women's Home via the computer shop and Lassana Gama. The computer we ordered yesterday was ready so a quick pick up and drop into the school to do an official handover.
Then tuk tuk and mini bus headed off to Sambhodi (This caters for women with learning difficulties and disabilities. It rained on the way, I had to put the side down on the tuk tuk as myself and Jannette were slowly but surely getting wet. Still by the time we got to Sambhodi the rain was off and everything started to dry up again. A Dutch team have been in replacing the covered walkway between the dormitory and main house and also building a medical centre, so the front of the house resembled a building site. But today Team Fenwick was there to take the ladies out to the beach for a paddle and the park for a picnic. They were eating lunch by the time we arrived, still had to change into their going out finery and the buses hadn't arrived. So there was a wee bit of hanging around to do. That kind of set the theme for the day as only the Matron seemed to know what was happening, some went to the beach and some didn't, they wanted to go to the temple but didn't want to walk along the beach (the only way to the temple). At the park some got off the buses some didn't. Still they all seemed to enjoy themselves and their sandwiches, juice and ice cream and that despite the tiny sugar ants that managed to get into some of the sandwich packs! It kind of put the team off eating theirs but the ladies just brushed them off. With rain threatening it was back to the buses and back up the road from Galle to Hikkaduwa all in time for another paddle in an even rougher sea than yesterday. For swimming the beach at Galle is certainly the better beach unfortunately we weren't there for that!
