NZ Day 16 - Sunday 2nd October

Alarm went off early this morning Church at 10:00am.  I have to confess to feeling a wee bit washed out but shave, shower, a cup of tea and a bit of toast all help.  Church at Epsom Presbyterian Church this morning. Fairly recognisable as Presbyterian with a mix of the traditional and modern.

Quick light lunch and then it was but into town for another availability session.  Needless to say the boys are gutted they certainly weren’t planning on going home this week.

Church again tonight this time St Paul’s Anglican church in town.  A bit like St Paul’s in Slough in terms of architecture probably similar era.  Although Anglican is was far from high liturgy, more Holy Trinity Brompton in style.  The evenings the young adults service – I was definitely one of the older folk there – and they are following a theme of “deeper in the Spirit” in terms of worship and practical teaching. So some free worship followed by teaching on “ministry” guidelines. Nothing new there they are straight out of the HTB/Alpha/New Wine/CLAN handbook. Still interesting to see it being put into practice in a new place and a new generation
