Bus to town this morning for the first of meetings, just
managed to duck into the hotel before the heavens opened. Did I mention I have yet to see anything resembling
drizzle. Meeting went well and managed
to meet up with some of the Glasgow boys which was great. The weather was still damp when I came out so
took myself into Te Papa for a touch of culture. Te Papa is the national Museum but it is far
from stuffy. It is very well designed and presented in different zones. I was quite moved by the stories from the
Maori land protests. Their whole idea of
being guardians of the land rather than owners of it has a certain Biblical
resonance. Didn’t do it all hopefully I’ll have time to go back. Lunch and a wander around Wellington to get
my bearings before heading back to my digs on a trolley bus. I remember trolley buses from the early 60s
in Glasgow but here they have sleek modern ones!
