Easy start to the day catching up with my journal then into town
to meet Andrew (my host) before heading to lunch at the North Wellington Rotary
Club. Requested to say grace so rolled out some Burns with the Selkirk Grace...
good move the guest speaker was originally from Dunedin, a town with strong Scottish links, so identified with the Scots of Burns’ grace.
A deputy commissioner in the New Zealand police force it was good to get
on the right side of her! Especially as
I ended up on the top table with her. I
was able to share about the role of an ENGAGE Chaplain with a number of folk so
that was good. The afternoon was a flat
white (coffee for the uninitiated similar to a cappuccino but perhaps with less
froth) and a blueberry muffin as I made myself available to the Scotland
squad... tough I know but I am getting to quite like sitting in cafes!
